Can you service unbranded imported taps?
Yes. We measure spline teeth, collar diameter, and overall length to source an exact brass match regardless of the brand name.
Do I need to turn off the water to the whole house before you arrive?
No. We locate and isolate local service valves where possible, or use the incoming stopcock once work begins.
What happens if the cartridge has fused permanently into the tap body?
If chemical release and mechanical pullers fail due to heavy galvanic corrosion, we explain the situation and quote for a complete tap body replacement before proceeding.
How We Carry Out Work
- 1Isolate supply and strip brasswareWe shut off local stopcocks and carefully remove indices, retaining screws, and decorative shrouds without scoring the finish.
- 2Extract seized cartridgeUsing specialist pullers and socket tools, we back out the failed core to keep the main tap casting intact.
- 3Dress seat and install replacementWe clear limescale from the internal thread, lubricate seals with WRAS-approved silicone grease, and torque the new cartridge into place.
- 4Restore pressure and testThe supply is restored to verify flow rates, temperature blending, and tight shut-off under full main pressure.
